Daniel Scott Behler, 39, of Palmerton, was lodged in the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning, after he attempted to flee from officers attempting to serve two bench warrants on him.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said they attempted to serve the warrants in the 400 block of Centre Street in Parryville, but Behler ran off. He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

Police charged him with escape and resisting arrest before Magisterial District Judge William Kissner, who set bail at $5,000 straight cash, pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday.
