Kelayres woman faces DUI charges

A Kelayres woman faces a driving under the influence charge after a Nov. 7 incident.

McAdoo police were dispatched to Fegley’s Mini Mart, located along Route 309, after a caller reported a possible DUI. The witness said a vehicle pulled into the parking lot, almost struck a barrier, and a woman, Bonnie McDermott, 25, stumbled out of the vehicle.

Police arrived and McDermott was still in the store. Police observed McDermott put on her left turn signal at an intersection, but turn right and then cross the double yellow lines on West Blaine Street. McDermott had red glossy eyes and police detected an odor of alcohol. She said she had been drinking a while ago. A blood test result showed a BAC of 0.092% with amphetamine and methamphetamine in her system.
