Community dinner

A turkey feast will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Race Street.

Registration

Registration for the annual Toys for Tots Campaign will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Salem Bible Fellowship Church, 1105 Fredericks Grove Road, Lehighton. To ensure that a family is eligible for the program, there must be a letter from your church, proof of public assistance or proof of unemployment. Only parents or legal guardians are permitted to register children. The person registering the children must have ID for themselves. In addition to this, legal guardians must have proof of guardianship. You must have a current, local resident photo ID to prove your Carbon County residence. A birth certificate is required for each child being registered. The age limit is 14 years; for handicapped children it is 16 years. No phone calls for registration will be accepted.

Class of 1967

Members of the graduating class of 1967, Jim Thorpe Area High School will meet at 10 a.m. Monday for breakfast at the Boulevard Restaurant, Lehighton.

Class of 1964

Members of Jim Thorpe High School class of 1964 met on Wednesday at the Fogelsville Hotel. Ed Solomon has taken over the reins of conducting the meetings before their luncheons and Joann Lienhard Murtoff is the new game master.

Classmate Lester Dunstan was honored this month for his service to the United States. Lester, a retired Master Chief, served 26 years with the U.S. Navy. He was presented a special gift from the class.

The Christmas luncheon is tentatively set for Dec. 20 at the Blue Shamrock. More information will be released soon.
