Fire 5K Race Immerse yourself in beauty and challenge of our agricultural heritage. The 3.1 mile race course is mostly pavement, embrace the spirit of some ups and downs as well as manicured dirt lanes and well mowed grass roads. Vary the experience a bit with a loop thru fields of hay, corn and Christmas trees. Take it all in as the leaves start to change, symbolizing both the beauty of the new fall season as well as some of the reasons we love it here. Registration 8:30am Race at 10am. 1 Mile Fun Walk – Not up for running? Stresses Out? Need some quality time with your family, your better half, or your bestie(s)? What better way to take some time to enjoy life and all it has to offer than to make some time for a leisurely stroll thru our beautiful neighborhood on a street that is closed to traffic? This walk is designed to be easy, all ages, all abilities for the entire family. It is approximately 1 mile split in half – out and back – and relatively flat. Walkers can turn around at any distance should they need or desire to. Here is the fun part – we have prizes available based on participant creativity. Wear a costume, form a team, decorate a kids wagon or gussy up the baby carriage. Surprise us with your imagination. We encourage you to laugh, smile and dance like no one is watching. Make some time to enjoy this life the way it’s supposed to be and celebrate community! All while showing support & appreciation of our volunteer first responders. The Clash in the Cornfield CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT – Check in begins 11:30am – bags in the air 12:30 pm. Double Elimination Bracket – Teams of 2 – Limited to 32 Teams – Cash Payout. Standard ACA Rules – Race to 21 format – Bags will be provided or personal bags permitted. Not up for running or walking? How about some easy exercise trying to toss a bag of shelled corn thru a 6 inch hole 27 feet away? Bring a lawn chair or register early to get a tailgate parking spot right next to the action. Join us for a little friendly competition just as you in your backyard. This event is designed to be laid back and enjoyable. A reason to come out and celebrate community, supporting your local volunteers, and show off your fine tuned accuracy. Bring your whole family as there are plenty of other activities for them to do as you advance your skills thru the brackets and possibly the finals. And don’t forget to find out about the $20 koozie.
