Municipal liens

Penn Forest Township has filed a number of municipal liens against owners of properties in the township that have failed to pay their 2010 garbage bills. In each of the liens, the judgment is in the amount of $168.90, including a bill of $125 and fees of $43.90.Defendants are: Robert Suarez Jr. and Patricia A. Cunningham, Philadelphia; Eugene J. Wurst, 22 Hopi Road, Jim Thorpe; and Shannon Stewart, 94 Oak Ridge Drive, Albrightsville.Suit over vehicleThe Ford Motor Credit Company, LLC, Mesa, Ariz., has filed a two-count complaint against Jason Tully, 196 Clover Lane, Lehighton, seeking judgment for the defendant having not made payments on a motor vehicle sales contract, as well as a replevin count seeking return of the vehicle.The plaintiff alleges it financed the purchase of a 2007 Ford Mustang to Tully in the amount of $25,271.29 and the defendant has not made a monthly payment of $479.74 since Nov. 9, 2009.Sought is $27,400.72, which included the principal owed on the vehicle, additional interest and attorney fees.Accident lawsuitsA three-count civil complaint stemming from a motor vehicle accident seeks $50,000 on each count against Jillian DeGiglio, 208 E. Center St., Nesquehoning.The plaintiffs are Amy Carrelli and Christiopher Carrelli, husband and wife, of 3975 Forest Inn Road, Aquashicola, and Barbara Williams, 313 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton.The plaintiffs allege DeGiglio operated a vehicle with carelessness and negligence on Jan. 13, 2009, on Rt. 248 in East Penn Township when it crashed into the rear of a vehicle occupied by Amy Carrelli and Williams. The complaint says Carrelli and Williams suffered serious and permanent injuries, while the count involving Christopher Carrelli contends he has had to incur medical expenses because of his wife's injuries and that he has been deprived the comfort and consortium of his wife.Denise A. Linkhorst and Robert Linkhorst, husband and wife, of 73 Buck Lane, Tamaqua, filed a civil complaint against Michelle L. Christman, 11 Second Ave., Lehighton, seeking $50,000 on each of three counts.The plaintiffs allege Christman was negligent and careless in the operation of a vehicle at a high rate of speed that crashed into a vehicle operated by Denise Linkhorst. The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. May 14, 2009, on Blakeslee Boulevard in Mahoning Township.The suit says Denise Linkhorst suffered severe and permanent injuries, for which she is seeking $50,000. The husband is seeking the same amount of money for loss of the care, comfort, companionship and consortium of his wife, whereas the third count seeks $50,000 in punitive damages for the plaintiffs.
