Annual spring carnival scheduled in Palmerton

Crusaders for a Cause is hoping so and has planned four fun-filled days of activities to unleash that pent-up excitement.The organization will stage its ninth annual spring carnival Thursday through Sunday in the Palmerton BoroughPark.Hours are 5-10 p.m. Thursday, 5-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2-7 p.m. Sunday. Parking and admission are free.May 15 and May 18 are Kids Ride Special Day, which comes with a rides discount.New this year is a gourmet coffee vendor, brick-oven fire pizza vendor, a hot wing stand, and a pony ride for kids from Horses for Hope, according to Larry Zawaly, treasurer.Other favorites include Christina's Reptile & Animal Sanctuary, with Apollo the Alligator, and Murphy the Sulcata Taurus; as well as various craft and food vendors.Zawaly said proceeds raised will go to a local charity or charities."After a long, hard winter, it's time for the people to come out and enjoy themselves," Zawaly said.Crusaders for a Cause was incorporated in May 2009, and raises money for charities, including Relay For Life/American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, March of Dimes and many other community causes or projects.For more information:
