Pregnant woman spared jail

An expectant mother appeared in the Schuylkill County Court for sentencing on drug charges. The judge, noting her condition, asked when was she expecting. "Any day, your honor," was her reply.

That probably saved her a jail sentence as Judge James P. Goodman sentenced Jaclyn Marie Hollywood, 31, of Pottsville, to serve 12 months on probation, adding for the child's sake, "I hope you are no longer involved in drugs."She responded she no longer uses drugs and is looking forward to the birth.Hollywood had entered a guilty plea to charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when cited by Pottsville Officer Renee R. Galle, in the 400 block on Adam Street in September 2012. She also was ordered to pay fines on three summary motor vehicle code violations for which she was stopped.Bench warrantsBench warrant hearings were held by Judge Goodman.Sarah Elizabeth Harring, 25, Tremont, had her bench warrant dissolved and bail reinstated and she must reside at 65 Clay St., Tamaqua. A bench warrant was issued last Oct. 11 for failing to appear in court for a pretrial conference. She faces a charge of retail theft from Boscov's Store, Fairlane Village Mall, Pottsville.Bail hearingMatthew Reabold, 24, of Lansford, after a hearing, had his bail reduced by Judge Goodman to $25,000 unsecured bail. He does not have to post any money, however, if he jumps bail he is liable for the full amount.Reabold was cited by Tamaqua Officer Anthony Stanell, for manufacture of illegal drugs.
