Chestnuthill OKs costs for emergency facility

Chestnuthill Township supervisors approved several expenditures this month, including $61,910 for Wind Gap Electric.

Wind Gap Electric will install an access control system for the doors for the Emergency Service Facility.

The supervisors also approved $16,493 for Bureau Veritas to complete Emergency Service Facility inspections. This includes a 30% discount of the remaining fees.

Also approved for the Emergency Service Facility, to be installed by Wind Gap Electric, was $4,430 for a dose tank pump power. Hosler Enterprise will equip the base of the building with radiant floor heating under the slab insulation for $47,624.00.

A credit of $5,657.00 was received from Wind Gap Electric for PVC conduits.

In other business, the agreement with Blue Ridge Cable was renewed for 10 years.

• Supervisors said the township will be following up with a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources grant for the park building restoration and pickleball court installation. The project will cost $200,000 with $100,000 coming from a state grant. An $80,000 match grant will be applied for next year. Renovations of the park building include accessibility for the restrooms and renovation of rental/meeting space. The project is expected to be completed in 2025.

• Three camp counselor contracts were renewed for the six-week park camp. The lead counselor will be paid $18.72 an hour and the other two $17.68 per hour. The day camp begins June 24 and runs for six weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Blue Mountain Fencing was awarded the contract for the Little Mexico trailhead for $9,700. This will include finishing the access point for the trailhead and prohibiting vehicle access to open space. Little Indian trailhead is actually on Little Indian Road, off of Effort-Neola roads. It was part of 800 acres of the “Big Woods Natural Area” the township acquired.

• Plans for Pleasant Valley Assembly of God and the Bush/Graham land development were tabled.

• The next meeting of the supervisors is at 7 p.m. April 2.
