Prothonotary report

A total of 251 cases were started in February by the office of Carbon County Prothonotary, according to a monthly report released by the office.

February cases:

Auditor Financial Reports 1; Civil Action 26; Confession of Judge 1; Court Rules 1; Custody 16; DJ Appeal 8; Divorce 14; Paternity 1; Stip/Waiv Liens 1; Mental Health 8; Miscellaneous 7; Judgments 134; License Appeal 1; Mortgage Foreclosure 11; Name Change 2; Partition 1; Protection from Abuse 14; Quiet Title 4.

A total of 21 passport applications were processed. Eight renewal applicants sought assistance from the office and 22 passport photos were taken.

Passports are by appointment.

In addition, the total income generated for the month was: $28,559.79.

• PFA Surcharge Sheriff: $103.29,

• Remitted to the county for the Remote Access Fund for Remote Access Fees: $1,200,

• Remitted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Revenue (fees collected on new cases): $4,462.16,

• Automation Fund: $908.16,

• Money turned over to the state for tax on passport photos: $18.70.
