Lioness Club hosts lunch with the Easter bunny

Mr. and Mrs. Easter bunny made their annual visit to the Lehighton Lioness Club’s annual Bunny Lunch Saturday at the Lehighton Boys & Girls Band Hall on 6th Street. The Lioness club has been hosting the lunch for more than 20 years.

“We are expecting over 200 children,” Lion Brenda Green from Ashfield said. “About 80% of those who come, come every year. This has become a tradition for them.”

In addition to lunch, each of the children received Easter baskets and gifts, there was a basket auction, and a fundraiser to benefit pediatric cancer.

“The Bunny Lunch funds go to the Lioness club, and goes straight back into the community,” Lion Susan Eremus explained.
