Marian wins Schuylkill County academic challenge

A team of Marian Catholic High School students defeated all Schuylkill League challengers to win the 31st Schuylkill County Academic Challenge.

The competition was held recently at Penn State Schuylkill.

As champion, Marian will be representing Schuylkill County in the Pennsylvania competition on April 28 in Harrisburg. The event will be held in the chambers of the House of Representatives and Senate.

It was the first year in many years that Marian fielded a team in the competition. The school came in seeded in 10th place and beat every team in one day.

Members include Tevin Walsh, Addison Pan, Angela Pan, Alyssa Kuba, Alex Cornmesser, Eliza Bauder, Ethan Risteter and Joey Walko.
