State police at Schuylkill Haven

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported on June 21 at 3:55 p.m. at the intersection of Route 61 and Penn Street, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Mollie E. Puza, 38, of Tamaqua, driving a 2006 Honda Element, entered 61 from Penn Street and proceeded northbound while Jennifer Pixarro Osorio, 39, of Reading, driving a 2007 Ford F59 step van, was northbound. Puza crossed from the passing lane into the right lane and hit the rear of Osorio’s vehicle.

Puza complained of back pain and was taken to the Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg. Osorio was not injured. The Honda was towed.

Puza was cited for the crash.

• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 6:34 p.m. on July 4 along Manheim Road in North Manheim Township. Annette S. Montone, 19, of Schuylkill Haven, was driving a 2005 Honda Civic northbound in the right lane and negotiating a left curve when she lost control of the vehicle. She applied her brakes and the vehicle spun counterclockwise. The Civic continued onto the right shoulder and then into a dirt embankment.

Montone was not injured but her vehicle had to be towed.

She was cited for driving a vehicle at a unsafe speed.

• A crash occurred at 10:17 p.m. July 4 along Route 61 in Port Clinton borough. Troopers said Amber M. Pena, 19, of Allentown, was making a left-hand turn with a 2011 Chrysler 200, and she drove her vehicle into the front of a residence at 61 Center St. Pena and her passenger, David D. Acevedo, 20, of Port Clinton, were not injured. The vehicle was towed and Pena was cited for the crash.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at noon on July 19 at the intersection of Route 61 and the entrance to the Cressona Mall in North Manheim Township. Troopers said Bernard W. Beese, 77, of Pine Grove, driving a 2007 Saturn Vue, was northbound preparing to turn left into the mall parking lot while Jennifer J. Staller, 49, of Girardville, driving a 2003 Ford F150 truck, was southbound. Staller’s truck struck Beese’s Vue on the front driver’s side.

Beese, and his passenger, Linda L. Beese, 71, were not injured but Staller suffered a suspected minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital East, Pottsville.

Both vehicles were towed. Beese was cited for the crash and Staller for operation following suspension of registration.
