Markovich finishes Marine boot camp

Pvt. Emiline Mae Markovich, 18, of Summit Hill, graduated from U.S. Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina, on Jan. 31.

Markovich successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training as one of 55 recruits in Training Platoon 4005.

Following 10 days home on leave, she will report to Camp LeJeune for one month at Military Combat Training, then Military Occupation Specialty School at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. Markovich has been promoted to private first class since departing for Camp LeJeune.

She is the daughter of Jeffrey and Michelle Markovich of Summit Hill. Grandparents are Robert and Carol Graver of Summit Hill and the late James and Joanne Markovich of Lansford.

She is a 2019 graduate of Panther Valley High School.

Pfc. Markovich will be stationed at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, on June 18.
