Crashes investigated by state police

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers recently.

• A sanitation vehicle and a pickup truck were involved in a crash on Nov. 15 in the area of 144 Kunkletown Road in Eldred Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said a County Waste garbage truck was eastbound at 2:28 p.m., operated by Joshua Paul Toth, 23, no address given, and was going too fast for conditions when it sideswiped a Dodge Ram truck driven by Melissa Ann Hersh, 45, no address given. West End ambulance personnel were called to the scene, but police did not indicate if anyone was injured. Kunkletown Fire Company volunteers also assisted at the scene.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 7:48 a.m. along Route 903, near Oil Pipeline Road, in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said a 17-year-old boy form Albrightsville, was southbound operating a 2005 Dodge Dakota pickup when his vehicle rear-ended a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup driven by Kimberlee L. Costlow, 54, of Albrightsville. The teen told troopers his vehicle hit a patch of ice and he could not stop.

The teen and his 17-year-old passenger and Costlow were not injured. A 14-year-old boy with Costlow suffered an injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest by Lehighton ambulance.
