The Palmerton Area Library is hosting a spring concert at 7 p.m. Thursday in the gallery.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will include "Dances, Ditties, Ballads & Rags: A Celebration of American & British Isles Folk Songs and Other Melodies."The program will feature Sherry Freund on the piano and Mandy Brown as soprano, and will be a great way to celebrate spring at the library.• Food for Fines month will continue until the end of this month. Donate one nonperishable food item in place of each $1 fine owed to the library. Eliminate all your late fines and feed the hungry at the same time. All donated food items will be given to the CACPAC food pantry in Palmerton. Everyone is encouraged to donate food for the pantry even if no fines are owed.• Computer classes for seniors will continue through May and June. There are currently a few openings in the following classes: Office and Excel, and Social Media and Mobile Devices. Call the library for class days and times.• The Third Monday Book Club will meet at noon May 15 at the library. They will discuss "The Invention of Wings" by Sue Monk Kidd. New members are always welcome.• The Knitting Club continues to meet on the first and third Mondays of each month from 6-8 p.m. at the library. Come to the club if you want to learn to knit or crochet or would like help with a project or want to share completed projects with others. This club is free and open to all, including students.• The annual Student Art Show will be held at the library from 1-3 p.m. June 13. Students ages 6-18 are encouraged to enter their art work. Work should be matted and ready to hang. Prizes will be given in two age categories.The library is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10-5, and Saturdays from 9-4.The library has six computers available for use by the public and well as copying, faxing and scanning services.Check out the large selection of magazines and newspapers as well as travel guides and maps that can be checked out with a library card.Visit the library website
