Palmerton Area School District has established a graduation date for its high school senior class.

The school board, on an 8-0 vote Tuesday, approved June 8 as the graduation date for the Class of 2015. Director Darlene Yeakel was absent.In other business, the board:Approved Aubrey Costenbader, substitute teacher; Nakea Beers, substitute teacher; Karen Jetty, substitute instructional aide and substitute secretary; and Jill Kuzo, substitute instructional aide and substitute secretary, effective today.Approved Amy Negley and Alexandra Spalding as mentors to Kristina Hummelwright for the remainder of the 2014-15 school year at the rate of $340.75 each.Approved the ESY Program, which will run from July 6-30, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Katherine Gilmartin, teacher, $20 per hour; Ashley Hummer, teacher, $30 per hour; Christine DeLong, teacher, $30 per hour; Michelle Bisbing, nurse, $15.99 per hour; Gari Savage, instructional assistant, $15.51; Marcia Heinick, instructional assistant, $14.31; Christina Bravo, instructional assistant, $14.31; and Casey Rinfret, one-on-one instructional assistant, $14.31.Approved the agreement with James R. Schwab for behavioral intervention and counseling at the rate of $120 an hour as needed, effective Jan. 25.Approved the contract with Pocono Valley for the senior class of 2015 outing event on May 22.Awarded the general school supplies bid for $23,381.
