Kelly Lynn Hurley, daughter of Kathleen and Clifford Hurley of Jim Thorpe, is engaged to be married to Lt. Col. Christopher Michael Kurinec of Newport News, Virginia.

Lt. Col. Kurinec is the son of the late Col. Ronald Kurinec of Jim Thorpe, and the late Katherine Kurinec of Texas.The bride-to-be has a diploma from Northampton Community College in dental assisting.She also attended Kutztown University.She is employed as a paraprofessional in the Jim Thorpe Area School District.The prospective bridegroom holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from NC State, as well as master's degrees in homeland security and operational strategic warfare.He is an active duty military officer currently assigned to the U.S. Northern Command as a CRBN interagency consequence management planner.The couple is planning a winter wedding for later this year in the Caribbean.
