Harrisburg - Peppermint, a Saanen dairy goat exhibited by Andrew Bowman of Slatington, Lehigh County won Best Doe in Show at the Junior Dairy Goat Show on Thursday, at the 2014 Pennsylvania Farm Show, Harrisburg.

Bowman of Jama Goats has proudly been showing goats for six years.

Judge Jeff Kline of Crowley, Texas said "Unfortunately, it's an unusual time to show dairy goats because typically this time of year they are pregnant and not producing milk. However your supreme doe has exceptional depth of body and an impressive mammary system for this time of the year."

In addition to Bowman's supreme, Crowley also placed a champion and reserve for seven other breeds. Bowman also took honors in the following:

Saanen

Champion: Jama Goats Peppermint exhibited by Andrew Bowman, Slatington.

Reserve Champion: Araby-Farm CCA Lillipop exhibited by Andrew Bowman, Slatington.

Showmanship results:

Division III

Champion: Andrew Bowman, Slatington, Lehigh Co

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the largest indoor agricultural event in the nation, with 24 acres under one roof that feature nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and nearly 300 commercial exhibitors.
