ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS A total of $690 was raised for the Tamaqua Carbon unit of the American Cancer Society (ACS) by Tamaua area students during numerous events held throughout the school year. At the end of the combined school's Fun Day, all the students came together to see which class raised the most donations. Dylan Peters was chosen by cheering students to be the recipient of a pie in the face in celebration of the students' efforts. Tamaqua elementary school students, dressed in colorful attire, watched as one of their teachers received a pie in the face in appreciation to all the donations collected for the American Cancer Society by the students.
