The waters of the Little Schuylkill River have been diverted at a portion of the East Broad Street bridge in Tamaqua as workers pour cement to create new piers that will support a new sidewalk at the site along US209. Wooden forms are being constructed beneath the arches in order to hold large stones in place while strengthening and reinforcement work progresses.
