May 4, 1976 Dennis Mankos slugs a pair of home runs to help Slatington, led by first-year head coach Frank Carazo, to a 17-8 Centennial League win over Pocono Mountain. Mankos gives the Bulldogs an early lead when he drills a three-run homer in the first inning. He adds a solo shot two frames later. The winners put the game out of reach in the top of the seventh when they push across nine runs, two of them on a homer by Scott Shoemaker. Andy Holko contributes an RBI double and Mike Turoscy chips in with a run-scoring single.
