Anthony T. Brown, 37, of Long Pond, was taken into custody on Sunday, March 24, and arrested on numerous charges following an incident at 7:08 a.m. in Tunkhannock Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said Brown is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property, person not to possess firearms, simple assault, possession of a controlled substance, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, possession of instruments of a crime and harassment.

He was arraigned before a magisterial district justice and committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, in lieu of $75,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 28.

Police said they were called to a residence in the township where a female told them she was threatened by a man with a gun. Police said they learned Brown was sleeping with a loaded gun under a pillow after having threatened to kill the woman and any officer who came to the residence.

Police said they surrounded the house and took Brown into custody without incident.

Further investigation revealed Brown had broken into a house a short distance away and stole firearms and ammunition. Police said 14 firearms were located inside the residence, including the loaded revolver they found under Brown's pillow.
