Break-ins probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating three burglaries and a theft from vehicle incident.

A break-in occurred at 287 N. Fireline Road, in Palmerton, Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Forced entry was made to the residence sometime between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on March 19. Several items were removed from the home, troopers said. The property is owned by Scott Graver, 34, of Palmerton.

A home along Pohopoco Drive, in Polk Township, Monroe County, was entered and a .22-caliber rifle and several boxes of ammunition taken. The incident was reported on March 11. The property owner is listed as Charles DeFranco, of Kunkletown.

An attempt was made to enter a residence in Polk Township but was unsuccessful, troopers said. The incident occurred sometime between March 14-19. The property is owned by Herb Luhrs, 71, of Franklin Square, N.Y.

Jason Shapiro, 180 Mill Run Road, in Franklin Township, Carbon County, reported someone entered his unlocked vehicle parked in his driveway and removed several items. The incident occurred overnight of March 16-17.
