Franklin Shockers grab two victories

The Franklin Township Shockers started strong and finished strong in posting a 13-1 win over Bushkill Township.
The winners took a lead with a five-run first inning and closed out the contest by scoring seven runs in the sixth.
A.J. Wenrich gained the pitching win, allowing just an unearned run and five hits in his five innings of work.
Jacen Nalesnik had two hits, knocked in two runs and scored twice for the Shockers. K.J. Snerr added two hits and two RBIs while Jordan Knappenberger collected two hits, scored a couple runs and had an RBI.
Also contributing to the win were Parker David (one hit, two RBIs) and James Farano (one hit, two runs).

The Towamensing Township Yankees jumped out to a big lead but the Pocono Mountain Outlaws rallied for a 13-8 win in 10 innings.
Garrett Krome knocked in three runs for the Yankees, who held a 7-1 advantage after two innings.
Tommy Robson tossed all 10 innings for the winners, who scored five times in the 10th frame.

The Phillipsburg Indians jumped out to a five-run lead but the Franklin Township Shockers rallied back to post a 7-5 victory.
Vince Mele had two hits, one a double, and knocked in three runs for the Shockers while Anthont Farole added a hit and RBI.
Thatcher David went the distance on the mound for the pitching win. David allowed just five hits and two earned runs while striking out seven. He also chipped in with a hit and two RBIs at the plate.

The Franklin Township Hurricanes used a five-run fifth inning to help earn a 6-6, six-inning tie against the Towamensing Township Yankees.
Dominic Pompa had two hits and knocked in a run for the Hurricanes. The Yankees received two hits, one a double, and an RBI from Eli Borger.

PV Black Diamonds
Luke Stano collected three hits and knocked in four runs to help the Panther Valley Black Diamonds register a 12-9 comeback win over the Hazleton Mountaineers, 12-9.
Steve Terry earned the pitching win, getting some relief help from Aaron Heitz.
PV trailed 5-0 heading into the home third and then rallied back for the victory.
For Hazleton, Miguel Rosario hit a home run and knocked in four runs.

The Panther Valley Black Diamonds scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings but the Pocono Mountain Outlaws pushed across a run in the eighth to claim a 6-5 victory.
Nick Kweder had two hits and knocked in a run to lead the Black Diamonds. Luke Stano suffered the mound loss, but struck out nine batters in pitching all eight innings.
For the Outlaws, Tim Donadio knocked in three runs.

Dane Ciavarella earned the pitching win and also aided his own cause at the plate as the Franklin Township Hurricanes downed the Bushkill Township Minutemen, 6-2.
Ciavarella went the distance on the mound, allowing just two first-inning runs. At the plate, he had two hits, one of them a double.

Todd Speilman pitched a seven-hitter, striking out five, and also two hits and knocked in two runs to lead the Boyertown Metz to a 10-5 win over the Lehigh Valley Marlins.
Zach Szoke had two hits, one a triple, and knocked in a run for the Marlins while Mike Hock added two hits and two runs scored.

In a wild finish, the Boyertown Metz pushed across a run in the eighth inning to trip the Lehigh Valley Marlins, 9-8.
Boyertown used a five-run sixth inning to build an 8-1 lead but Lehigh Valley rallied for four in the home sixth and forced extra innings with a three-run seventh.
Zach Szoke had three hits for the Marlins (2-6) while Luke Szoke added two hits and an RBI.
For the winners, Cole Speilman had three hits and scored two runs.
