State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on the following crashes that occurred on Schuylkill County roadways.

A hit and run was reported on July 11, about 1 p.m. along Willow St., in Norwegian Township. Troopers said a vehicle was driven westbound when it struck the left front of a parked 2002 Chevolet Cavalier. After impact the driver fled the scene.

A crash was reported about 8:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12, along Wiconisco St., in Porter Township. Troopers said Michael J. Bailey, 51, of Minersville, was driving a 2000 International Harvester 4900 truck eastbound and approaching a parked 2011 Dodge Nitro when he drove over a manhole cover. This allowed a unsecured hydraulic boom arm on his truck to "jump" over a notch in the frame it was resting on.

The boom arm then began to extend from the passenger side of the truck toward the shoulder and as it passed the Dodge the arm struck the rear bumper on the driver's side.

After impact with the Dodge, the boom arm pivoted around and continued to drag on the roadway as Bailey contiued east before turning onto Weaver St.

No injuries were reported. Troopers cited Bailey for securing loads in vehicles.

A one vehicle crash was reported about 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, along New Philadelphia Road, in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Cory A. Lawson, 21, of Orwigsburg, was driving a 2001 Chrysler Sebring southbound and exiting a right curve when it went onto the berm. The Sebring traveled about 105 feet through a grassy shoulder before continuing another 45 feet down an embankment where it struck a tree.

Lawson was injured and taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-E. Norwegian St., Pottsville. A passenger, Paul C. Young, 21, of Pottsville, was not injured.

Troopers said Lawson was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
