Tamaqua man facing theft charge

A Tamaqua man has been cited by police following a retail theft incident at the Family Dollar Store, 137 N. Railroad St., Tamaqua.

Store personnel contacted police at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday to report that a male had entered the store, took two 32-ounce containers of Quaker State Motor Oil from the shelves, then placed the containers in his pants. When confronted, the suspect removed the oil containers and fled from the store.

He was identified as Michael Kabana, 21, of 32 N. Greenwood St.

Kabana will receive a citation for retail theft in the mail.
