Six from area among 32 placed in probation program

Six area residents were among 32 who were qualified by District Attorney Karen Byrnes Noon to be placed in the Accelerated Rehabilative Disposition (ARD) probation program because they were first offenders to non violent crimes.

Judge John E. Domalakes admitted them into the program at a hearing held in Schuylkill County court and imposed conditions to be completed. If they successfully carry out the sentences they can clear their name. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.Zachary Evans, 18, of 247 Franklin St., Tamaqua, on a driving under the influence (DUI) charge was assessed $500 fee to defray cost of the program, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA), $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend alcohol highway safe driving school and driver's license is suspended 90 days. On a summary charge of failing to obey a traffic signal was fined $25 plus costs. Evans was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Duarte, last July 21.Corrine P. Milner, 24, of 60 River St., Tamaqua R.D., on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school, make restitution of $1,500 to Tracy Fritz, and license suspended 60 days. Milner was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Duarte, last Aug. 7.Barry Adam Ohl, 18, of 83 Hunter St., Tamaqua, on charges of theft of an all terrain vehicle (ATV) owned by David L. Schock, 88 E. Main St., Quakake, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at nightime was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours community service. Ohl was reportedly caught in the act by Rush Township police last Aug. 17.Lisa Jean Green, 51, of 640 E. Ridge St., Lansford, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school, receive substance abuse outpatient treatment, and license suspended 60 days. Green was cited by Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Bynon, last May 29.Heather Richards, 24,of 66 Lakeside Drive, Barnesville, on a charge of receiving stolen property at retail theft from Walmart Store, Hometown, was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. Richards was cited by Rush Township Cpl. Duane Fredericks, last Aug. 26.Robert Owen Fisher, 22, 33 E. 23rd St., Hazleton, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community service, attend safety school, no license suspension. On a summary charge of exceeding the maximum speed limit on N. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, was fined $35 plus $50 costs. Fisher was cited by Patrolman Shawn Kistler, last May 29.Zachary Alexander Navitsky, 19, of 4 Alliance St., New Philadelphia, on a charge of violation concerning licenses by altering a driver's license was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours community service. He was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Renee Gallle, last July 21.Adam Charles Goodman, 21, Port Carbon, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, perform 10 hours community sevice, attend safety school and license suspended 60 days. Goodman was cited by Pottsville Patrolman Paul R. Olson, last Sept. 9.Victor Green, 19, Staten Island, N.Y., on a charge of giving Shenandoah police a false identification when stopped last May 21 was assessed $350, pay $50 to CJEA, and perform 10 hours of community service. Haag, Mahanoy City, on charges of fleeing Rush Township police last Aug. 29, recklessly endangering another person and giving false identification, was assessed $350, and perform 15 hours of community service. On two summary charges, driving while her operating privileges were suspended was fined $200 and failing to have an official inspection certificate on her car was fined $25 plus costs totaling $100. Hood was cited by Trooper Todd W. Eisenhart was cited by Pottsville Patrolman James P. Englert, last March 21.Tracey Anne Eckert, 41, Frackville, on a DUI charge was assessed $500, pay $100 to SAE fund, $50 to CJEA, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, attend safety school, perform 10 hours community service, and license suspended 30 days. On a summary charge of failing to have a valid inspection certificate on her vehicle was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Eckert was cited by Trooper Scott M.Grochowski when stopped on SR61 in Blythe Township last June 4.Each defendant must also pay other court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
