Not only did Dawn Olson, retired Monroe County Extension director, extreme right, and Janice Robins, master food preserver, of Saylorsburg, not pictured, test pressure canners for folks who brought them to a two-hour free canning information session at Tractor Supply in Brodheadsville, but they also answered many questions posed by visitors to the evening event. Pictured, from left, are Diana Day, Wendy Custred and Julie DeLong, all of Kunkletown, and Tammie and Ray Hiestand of Brodheadsville. In addition to answering questions, Olson and Robins distributed canning-related handouts on various fruits and vegetables and other ideas on where to find information to can produce correctly and safely.
