Community meal

A free community supper will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 345 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. All are welcome to enjoy a free meal and fellowship.

Help wanted

Can you spare one hour a week for a worthy cause? The Meals on Wheels program in Palmerton is always in need of more drivers.

Deliveries are made from the Palmerton Hospital about 11 a.m., Monday through Friday, holidays included. Each route requires less than one hour. If you can't commit for a certain day each week, perhaps you would be willing to substitute as needed.

To volunteer, or for more information, contact Meals on Wheels at the Palmerton Hospital at (610) 826-3141.

Special Story Hour

Rachel DeMicco, of Jim Thorpe Arts in Motion, will present a special story hour at the Palmerton Area Library on Friday, June 1, at 10:30 a.m. Singing, dancing, fun for the whole family.

Reading contest

Adults, teens, and kids can sign up for the "Star Chain" reading contest at the Palmerton Area Library, where they can compete in their age groups to win fun prizes. This is free and open to all. For more information, call the library at (610) 826-3424.
