Monroe crash

Published March 31. 2012 09:01AM

A Monroe County driver was cited following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 12:44 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, in front of 722 Kuhenbeaker Road, in Long Pond.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said they responded to the scene and learned that Kenneth A. Smith, 21, of Pocono Summit, was operating a Chevrolet Malibu too fast to be able to negotiate a sharp left hand curve. The vehicle left the road on the right side and began to spin counter-clockwise. Smith then over-corrected, police said, which caused the vehicle to spin clockwise and ended up striking a utility pole and tree, where it came to rest.

Smith sustained a minor injury in the crash. Police said Smith was cited for driving a vehicle at a (un) safe speed.
