Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5:44 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, along SR1006, a mile south of Ryan Township, in Blythe Township.

Troopers said Donald Steinheiser, 54, of Mahanoy City, was traveling southbound when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree on the west berm.

Troopers said Steinheiser was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville for a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers added.
