Driver facing DUI after Monroe crash

A driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 8:37 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, along Windy Pine Road, in Pocono Lake.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers responded to the above location. On scene officers learned that Keith Vika, 27, of Pocono Lake, was the driver of a vehicle westbound on Windy Pine Road which left the road for unknown reasons.

The vehicle traveled 200 feet in a wooded area striking multiple trees and rocks. Vika then drove his vehicle back to Martha's Lane.

Vika was found to be under the influence and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment of injuries and a blood test.

The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.

The vehicle sustained heavy damage, police noted.
