A Northumberland County driver is facing a charge of hit-and-run and other counts following an accident in Schuylkill County.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Matthew J. Allen, 32, of Mount Carmel, was driving a 1995 Honda Civic northbound on SR813, in Cressona, near the intersection with Front Street, about 3:05 p.m. on March 28 when he failed to negotiate a curve. The car traveled off the road and impacted with a traffic signal, knocking it over.After impact Allen fled the scene but was later located. He was charged with damage to unattended vehicle/property, and driving on roadways laned for traffic.
