Tamaqua police issue warrant

Tamaqua Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Damon Cluff, who has no known permanent address.

Cluff allegedly entered the Tamaqua Turkey Hill Minute Mart on East Broad Street at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, then proceeded to the back room and attempted to remove numerous items from the store. According to the arrest warrant, Cluff entered the back room, picked up a crate and proceeded to fill it with 24 cartons of cigarettes. He then left the store and headed toward the railroad tracks on Greenwood Street. A witness followed Cluff and a brief scuffle began. Cluff dropped the crate and cigarettes and fled.Charges to be filed by Patrolman Karl Harig include retail theft, receiving stolen property, unlawful removal of a container, simple assault and disorderly conduct.Anyone with information concerning the location of Cluff is asked to contact Tamaqua police at (570) 668-5000.
