State police at Schuylkill Haven reported the arrest of a Schuylkill County driver following a two vehicle crash in which she fled the scene.

The crash occurred about 4:15 p.m. on Friday, March 30, along Main St., in Porter Township. Troopers said Natasha R. Kukuk, 20, of Williamstown, was stopped at a stop sign on Main St., at SR209, when she pulled out and struck the driver side rear of a 2004 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Melody A. Bowser, 41, of Tower City, with the front of her 1995 Buick LeSabre. Troopers said Bowser was eastbound on 209 and had the right-of-way.

Troopers said after impact Kukuk fled the scene and was pursued by witnesses of the crash who obtained the license plate number on her vehicle. She then pulled over about one to two miles from the scene.

Kukuk was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of an accident, troopers said.

Kukuk and three passengers, Christopher Books, 22, Molly R. Jenkins, 25, and a one year old male, all of Tower City, were all not injured. Bower and her passengers Donald I. Lucas, 74, and juveniles ages 14 and seven, were not injured, while another passenger, Mae Lucas, 82, sustained a minor injury but did not require immediate medical attention. All are from Tower City.

Troopers said Kuku will be charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident and related motor vehicle code violations.
