Caring friends have come to the aid of a woman resident of W. Broadway in Jim Thorpe recently diagnosed with serious medical problems which will require extensive and costly treatments.

The friend that they have chosen to aid is Robin Bierman, who has worked for business establishments in historic Jim Thorpe for a number of years.

Stores, restaurants and other businesses in the Jim Thorpe area stepped up by offering prizes in the "Benefit for a Friend" drawing to benefit Robin. A total of $3,200 has been raised to help her cause.

Not only have the friends helped out with Robin's financial needs, but they've also provided emotional support.

Anyone interested in helping Robin out can contact Debra Taylor at 484-629-4475.
