A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 7:25 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 6, along SR61 in Blythe Township.

State police at Frackville said Thomas P. Halon, 51, of Shenandoah, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu southbound, just south of the Schuylkill Mall Road, when he lost control while negotiating a left curve. The car traveled onto the east shoulder, then west across both lanes of travel and struck the guard rail on the west shoulder.

Halon was found to be under the influence and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, for treatment of a minor injury and a blood test.

Troopers said the DUI charge is pending the test results. Halon will be charged with several motor vehicle code violations, troopers added.
