Nesquehoning cops make arrest

Nesquehoning police have arrested Russell L. Bahrey III, 35, of Hatfield, Pa., for drug-related charges stemming from an incident whereby he was transported to the Carbon County Correctional Facility in the borough and found to be in possession of marijuana.

Police said Bahrey was arrested on Dec. 3 at 5:40 p.m. by Beaver Meadows police, who picked the man up upon learning he was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant. Upon being searched at the prison, Bahrey was found to be in possession of a baggie that contained marijuana.

The man was arraigned before District Justice Casimir Kosciolek on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and an inmate possessing a controlled substance.

The man was detained in the jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. Police said he also carries an address of 168 Stony Hill Road, Weatherly.
