Lions donation helps emergency services

Franklin Township Lions Club presented a check of $1,000 for Franklin QRS (Quick Response Services) and another $2,000 to the new Lehighton Water Rescue team. Presenting the checks to Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company Lieutentant Tom Chew, center, was Art Berger, club member; left; and David Hawk, president, right. The Franklin QRS responds to medical emergencies before the ambulance arrives to assist residents. The Lehighton Water Rescue team is the only water rescue team in the eastern part of the state that is certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
