Area woman celebrates 91 years
Helen (Olczewski) Anderson
Helen (Olczewski) Anderson, a resident at Heritage Hill Senior Community in Weatherly, is celebrating her 91st birthday on July 30.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1919, Helen also resided in Dixhills, Long Island and Montauk, Long Island. She attended Hofstra University where she earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and teaching. She worked at the Chemical Bank & Trust Company in Manhattan as the secretary to the vice president of the bank.
She married Henry Anderson on Aug. 19, 1939 and they were married for 55 years until his passing.
Helen is the proud mother of three children: Denise of Lafayette, N.J.; Christopher of Boonton Twp., N.J.; and Pamela Kydes of Arlington, Va. She is also the grandmother of five and great-grandmother of four.
She is an avid reader and writer and belongs to the Montauk Writes writing club. She is also a member of the Real Estate Association in Montauk.
A party was held in Helen's honor by her family at Heritage Hill.
