One of two drivers involved in a crash in Schuylkill County will be charged.

State police at Frackville said James R. Schaal, 19, of Port Carbon, was driving a 1997 Ford F350 truck southbound on SR61 in Blythe Township, on Wednesday, Jan. 7, about 7:44 a.m. in the left lane while Shawn C. Bossler, 31, of Hegins, was driving a 2005 Western Star tri-axle truck behind in the right lane. Troopers said Schaal lost control of his truck and struck the guide rail on the east berm. Bossler attempted to avoid Schaal's vehicle but could not and struck it. Upon impact the pickup truck spun around and hit a rock embankment on the west berm with the front end.

No one was injured. The Ford had to be towed from the scene. Troopers said Schaal will be cited.

Troopers also investigated a one-vehicle crash about 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County. Troopers said Patricia Purvis, of Wilkes-Barre, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo northbound when the car left the road and struck the guide rail along the west berm. After impact the car traveled east across both lanes of travel striking the guide rail on the east side.

Purvis was not injured but the car had to be towed from the scene. She was cited, troopers said.
