Driver injured in SR209 crash

State police at Frackville are investigating a crash which occurred just after 9 p.m. Wednesday along SR209 a mile west of Tamaqua, in Schuylkill Township. It is reported the driver of the late model sport utility vehicle was Timothy Kleinhagen, of Summit Hill. Reports from the scene indicated Kleinhagen was operating his vehicle northbound when, for some unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the north berm where it impacted head-on with a tree. Kleinhagen was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale. Responding was the Tuscarora Fire Company and Tamaqua Rescue Squad. Kleinhagen was severely burned in a fire last year when delivering propane gas to a dog kennel in Franklin Township. An explosion destroyed the kennel and killed several prize show dogs.
