Seltzer Group, Miners Memorial form insurance service alliance

Published October 05. 2009 02:55PM

Schuylkill County's The Seltzer Group, a member of Keystone Insurers Group, announced it has formed an alliance with St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital to provide medical insurance solutions and occupational health services to businesses in Luzerne, Carbon and Schuylkill Counties.

To kick off this new relationship and educate local business owners about the services now available to them, St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital and The Seltzer Group will present a free seminar, "Taking Control of Your Workers' Compensation Costs." The session will teach area business owners how they and their employees may be affected by occupational health and medical insurance issues, such as workers' compensation. This seminar will also offer solutions and cost reduction strategies. It will take place on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:45 a.m. at Lehigh Carbon Community College, Scheller Student Center, High Street, Tamaqua.

The Seltzer Group was looking for a similarly renowned partner that could fulfill those offerings on the occupational medical side. Since both The Seltzer Group and St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital serve many of the same communities, there was a commonality among their goals and services. It was therefore a logical choice for them to pursue a partnership in which they could support the community together.

St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital will now deliver occupational health and wellness services to the Seltzer Group's client base through a comprehensive approach for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries to employees at businesses throughout the area.
