Carbon County Chamber and Economic Development Corporation is hosting a free hands-on workshop, "CCEDC Web Site 101," on Wednesday, May 7, at the chamber office at 137 South St., Lehighton.

"If there is one positive action step that you can take right now to help you stand out and improve your business, this would be it," said Marlyn Kissner, executive director.As a member of the CCEDC, business owners have access to this resource and business tool with a business directory that is designed to be a "portal to everything Carbon County," from Chamber and community-related information to business resources and tools to help effectively conduct and promote business to what it is like to live, work and play here. This site is not only a resource for chamber members but is also for everyone who visits or plans to relocate their business or residence to Carbon County.There are two sessions. The morning workshop begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the workshop will be held from 8-9 a.m. The evening workshop holds registration at 5:30 p.m. and the workshop is from 5:45-6:45 p.m.At the workshop, you'll learn to navigate the new CCEDC website,

www.carbonchamber.org, and member information center and build a strong member profile that helps your search rankings both on the site and off. You'll explore exciting opportunities to grow your business through the site.Bring a laptop or tablet to get the most out of this workshop.CCEDC members are currently updating their member profiles for the online business directory and posting their community and business events on the online calendar. Some members have even taken advantage of the benefits of enhancing their member profile and advertising on the site.
