There were contests in three of the four area school districts in Tuesday's Municipal Primary Election.

Panther ValleyCoaldale Borough is the only Schuylkill County member of the Panther Valley School District. Its vote was as follows:There was a contest on the Democratic ballot with four to be nominated. The vote was Richard Zabroski 66 votes, John Williams 67, Brian J. Dolena 63, Irene A. Genther 69, and Daniel J. Heaney 61. There was no contest on the Republican ballot, vote was Dolena 127, Zabroski 119, Genther 117 votes, Williams 107.Tamaqua AreaThere was no contest.The same four candidates were unopposed and won both nominations. The vote cast on the Republican ballolt was, Mark Rother 1,066 votes, Thomas A. Rottet 1,174 votes, Bryan W. Miller 1,074 votes and Aaron R. Frantz 1,120 votes. On the Democratic ballot Rother received 396, Miller 354, Rottet 424, and Frantz 357.Hazleton AreaThe borough of McAdoo and the township of Kline, are members the district. There were four to be nominated on each ballot and there were eight candidates who filed on both ballots.The Schuylkill County vote was as follows:Republican ballot, Steven Hahn received 226 votes, Carmella Yenkevich 304, Clarence John 272, Thomas J. Chirico 208, James G. Chapman 299, Bolb Mehalick 317, Jared M. O'Donnell 318, and Frederick Mariano 221. On the Democratic ballot, Chirico received 212, O'Donnell 281, Hahn 167, Mehalick 309, Chapman 263, Mariano 185, John 213 votes and Yenkevich 292.Blue MountainBlue Mountain Area School District had contests to nominate four directors on both ballots.On the Republican ballot Timothy G. Grube received 1,004 votes, Herman Robert Fligge 891 votes, Dean Ghergel 877 votes, and Anne Usuka 809 votes to be the nominees, besting Mary Jo Moss with 758 votes and Gerald A. Ravitz with 742 votes. On the Democratic Grube received 493, Usaka 433, Fligge 418, and Moss 367 votes to win the nomination over Ghergel, who received 359 votes, and Ravitz with 330 votes
