Frackville man charged after hit-and-run crash

A Frackville man is facing numerous charges following a hit-and-run accident that ocurred Sunday at 2:44 a.m. on Route 209 in Packerton, Mahoning Township.

Joseph C. Hahn III, 25, has been charged with:Immediate notice of accident to police department.Restriction on alcoholic beverages.Careless driving.Driving vehicle at safe speed.Police said the accident happened near Pine Street.On arrival, police said they found that a vehicle traveling towards Lehighton swerved off the roadway striking the rock embankment. The vehicle had fled the scene leaving behind several parts including the front bumper.Police located the vehicle, a 1994 Ford Thunderbird, parked off the roadway near the Turkey Hill in Jim Thorpe with no occupants, and an open container of alcohol spilled inside the vehicle.Hahn was identified as the vehicle driver.
