A Nesquehoning woman, already in trouble for lying to police, is also charged with drug offenses.

Bobbie Jo Simmons, 32, of 315 E. Catawissa St., is charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Chief Sean T. Smith:At 1:41 p.m. July 6, Smith was dispatched to Simmons' address. Simmons had reported that two people had just cut the tires on her car and that they were still on the property. When Smith arrived, he spoke with Simmons, and with Sharelle Miller and Wesley Crostley.Miller said Simmons was one of her closest friends, but was using drugs heavily and was scheduled to enter rehab that day. She told Smith that she and Crostley had helped Simmons get into the program, and were there to help her pack. She said Simmons tried changing her mind about rehab, which was sending staff to pick her up that day.Miller said she and Crostley didn't damage the tires, but let the air out of them so Simmons couldn't leave.Smith asked Simmons if that was true. Simmons cried, and said it was. She said she was angry that they had let the air out of her tires. Smith could see fresh track marks on Simmons' arms. Simmons told him she had used heroin about an hour earlier.When Smith asked if there were drugs in the house, Simmons led him to a computer desk and showed him several used wax bags stamped "ESCOBAR" and "BENNESSY," which Smith knew from training and experience to be heroin. There was also some residue in the bags. There were also two used syringes. Simmons admitted to having bought and used the heroin.
