Residents in the eastern portion of West Penn Township are becoming frustrated over the amount of time it is taking to repair a bridge which carries Berry Road over the Mahoning Creek. The bridge was believed to have been damaged by the heavy rains of the summer of 2011 which brought the stream out of its banks and over the bridge. The structure is of stone and very narrow. Area residents fear the time frame of the repair may be similar to that of Schuylkill County repairing the adjacent bridge which carries St. Peters Road over the Mahoning Creek, a time frame of three years.
