State police at Lehighton reported on several driving under the influence (DUI) arrests made by troopers.

On May 26 about 12:59 a.m. troopers stopped Mark A. Ruch, 49, of New Tripoli, along Delaware Avenue at Forest Inn Road, in Palmerton, for failing to travel in lanes and failure to use a turn signal. He was found to be under the influence and taken to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers said.

Also on May 26, about 2:23 a.m. troopers stopped Brittani Schleicher, 24, of Lehighton, at the intersection of state routes 209 and 443 in Lehighton, for a stop sign violation and not using a turn signal. She was found to be under the influence. The DUI charge is pending, troopers added.

Troopers reported on the following DUI arrests made on May 27.

At 12:05 a.m. troopers stopped Stanley Johnson Jr., 71, of Eldred Township, Monroe County, along 57 Road at Christmans Road, in Eldred Township, for driving in the middle of the road. He also made a turn without using his turn signal. He was found to be under the influence and taken to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results.

At 1:06 a.m. troopers stopped Phillip Gower, 23, of Gilbert, along Doney Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle violation. He was found to be intoxicated with the DUI charge pending.

At 2:28 a.m. Jeremy R. Cox, 32, of Lehighton, was stopped at Bridge St. and SR209, in Weissport, for failure to use a turn signal and failing to stop at a stop sign. He was found to be under the influence with the DUI count pending.

At 7:20 p.m. Michael J. Heckenberger, 23, of Nazareth, was stopped for a vehicle code violation along SR209, a mile south of SR33, in Hamilton Township, Monroe County. He was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI, troopers said.

At 9:32 p.m. Heather L. Brescia, 22, of Saylorsburg, was stopped for a vehicle code violation along Blue Ridge Road, east of Weir Lake Road, in Ross Township, Monroe County. She was found to be under the influence and placed under arrest for DUI.

On May 28 about 8:25 p.m. Troy Dubois, 40, of Weissport, was stopped for an equipment violation at SR248 and State Road, in Franklin Township. He was found to be under the influence and taken to the Palmerton hospital for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, troopers added.
