A Carbon County woman was hospitalized after her vehicle struck a tree Thursday morning in Jim Thorpe.

According to the report released by Jim Thorpe Police Chief Joseph Schatz, the Jim Thorpe Police Department was dispatched at around 11:22 a.m. to a single vehicle accident in the area of 359 Broadview Drive, Jim Thorpe.Through investigation, police learned that the operator of the vehicle identified as Carol Scott, 48, of Lehighton, was traveling on Broadview Drive when for some unknown reason, veered to the right causing her vehicle to strike a tree. Scott was airlifted to St. Lukes Hospital in Fountain Hill.The investigation is continuing with charges pending.
